How many terms per year does the Online MBA offer?
The Online MBA program offers six terms per year.
How long is each term?
Each term is eight weeks in length and begins on a Monday and ends on a Sunday. The terms run back-to-back except for a one-week break at the end of April and a three-week break at the end of December.
Do I need to have an undergraduate degree in business to gain admission to The University of Scranton’s Online MBA program?
No. The University of Scranton Online MBA program is designed to accommodate business and non-business undergraduate majors. Applicants who do not possess an undergraduate degree in business may be required to take up to twelve foundation modules as a condition of their admission to the program. Each foundation module is worth one semester credit hour. However, it is possible that some of the foundation modules may be waived upon review of your prior undergraduate coursework and/or work experience.
Do I have to submit GMAT test scores for admission?
GMAT test scores are not required, but may be submitted as an additional credential to bolster your case for admission. In some cases, the Admissions Committee may require an applicant to submit GMAT test scores upon review of the application materials submitted.
How many credits are required to complete the Online MBA?
The Online MBA program requires a minimum of 36 semester credit hours to graduate. Students lacking the necessary academic business preparation may be required to complete up to 12 semester credit hours of foundation modules to extend their program between 36 – 48 semester credit hours.
How long will it take to complete the Online MBA?
The Online MBA program’s 36 semester credit hours can be completed in 2 years with a relaxed pace of one course per term.
Does the Online MBA program require a campus residency?
No. The Online MBA program is completed 100% online and does not require a campus residency.
What are the advantages to earning my MBA online?
You have convenient and flexible access to the course materials. Although there are deadlines that you have to meet on a weekly basis, you are not locked into a particular time or place. Moreover, if you have to travel, you can take your course with you. All you need is an internet connection to access your Online MBA coursework.
Is the Online MBA program interactive?
Yes. Online MBA courses are delivered using the Angel Learning Management System. Student-to-student and faculty-to-student interactions are facilitated by e-mail, threaded discussions in online forums, virtual chat sessions, and instant messaging. In addition, group projects will require interacting with your fellow students and instructors.
Will my diploma indicate that my MBA was earned online?
No. Students who successfully complete the Online MBA program will receive a diploma stating that they have earned the Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Scranton. Online and campus-based students earn the same prestigious MBA credential. Graduates of the Online MBA program are invited to join the University’s regular commencement ceremonies in Scranton in May.

What computer software will I need to access the online courses?
Online MBA students are recommended to have the following software requirements:
Internet Explorer (6.0 or above) or Firefox (1.5 or above) — cookies must be enabled.
• Microsoft Office programs to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Some Management Information Systems courses may require Access.
• Free plug-ins for viewing course files such as Macromedia Flash, Adobe Acrobat, Windows Media Player and QuickTime.
