INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WELCOME

The University of Scranton Welcomes International Students

Why Scranton

The University of Scranton welcomes international students into our online graduate programs. We have been teaching international students for over 50-years and are committed to serving a diverse student population. You will enjoy the benefits of earning your graduate degree online from an accredited U.S. university from your home anywhere in the world.

What draws these students to The University of Scranton?

Online courses are characterized by the same academic rigor, quality instruction, excellent faculty and identical diploma to traditional graduate degrees.

Small class sizes of no more than 20 students for online courses promote a high degree of interaction with the faculty and classmates, which students value and consider to be an asset of the online programs. Students in our online programs can communicate with each other and their professors through email, online chat and message boards.

Admissions Procedures for International Graduate Students
An international applicant is defined as any non-U.S. citizen.

International applicants must submit the following:
Proof of English Proficiency—Students from non-English speaking countries are required to take the TOEFL to verify proficiency in English.
Students can enroll in the online graduate program while living in countries outside the U.S.; however, the online program will not qualify a student for a student visa, and international students are unable to qualify for federal financial aid.
If you are an international student with a student visa for an undergraduate program or a traditional master’s degree, you will not be able to transfer or extend your current visa for Scranton’s online programs.

University Memberships in International Organizations
The University holds memberships in several associations focusing on international education, including the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs, AMIDEAST, the Pennsylvania Council for International Education and the Council of Graduate Schools.
